Have you ever had a moment of clarity that changed the course of your life?

For me, that moment came while scrolling through LinkedIn one evening, when I stumbled upon an article shared by CNBC. Little did I know, that article would spark the idea that eventually led to the creation of Job Journey, a revolutionary app designed to transform the way you approach your career.

The article discussed how many professionals were keeping handwritten journals to document their work achievements, with the intention of using them to reflect on their growth and prepare for future job interviews and salary increase negotiations. As I read through the article, I couldn't help but be intrigued by the power of this simple yet profound practice.

It got me thinking – what if there was a way to enhance this practice, to make it digital, dynamic, and even more empowering? And thus, the seed for Job Journey was planted.

As someone who has always been passionate about personal and professional development, I saw an opportunity to create a tool that would empower individuals to take ownership of their career journeys. I envisioned an app that would not only allow users to record their achievements but also provide insights, guidance, and support every step of the way.

With this vision in mind, I set out to bring Job Journey to life. I started small. In the beginning I aimed to create a repository of achievement records that someone could use to replace a word document. Main advantages at this step being that you could search and sort your experiences for a better access to you history.

As Job Journey is not yet a social app, you are in charge of monitoring your own skills and it all comes down to how you appreciate your skill levels yourself.

The result? A comprehensive career companion that empowers users to record their achievements, track their progress, manage their skills, and learn from setbacks – all in one convenient app. Job Journey isn't just a tool for documenting your career accomplishments; it's a platform for personal and professional growth, a source of inspiration and motivation.

As Job Journey is available to the world on Google Play, I am filled with excitement and anticipation for the impact it will have on the lives of professionals everywhere. But none of this would have been possible without that moment of inspiration sparked by a simple article shared on LinkedIn.

So, to everyone who has supported me on this journey, whether through words of encouragement, feedback, or collaboration – thank you. And to those who are just discovering Job Journey for the first time, welcome. I invite you to join me on this journey of innovation, empowerment, and transformation. Together, let's redefine what it means to succeed in our careers and in our lives.

Stay tuned for the official launch of Job Journey in the Apple App Store, and in the meantime, feel free to explore our website and learn more about how Job Journey can help you unlock your full potential.

Early on I have decided that a deeply personal application like Job Journey should have the most security and privacy it can on a mobile device. So, for the first versions it will not store any data in the cloud, it will not contain any social aspect like connecting users, everything will live locally on device and the user can use the device passcode or biometrics to access the app.

After that, I realized that during an interview a more important interest point is how you reacted when things got tough and what did you learned from it. So, Job Journey got a new concept, the one of an Improvement, a true staple of ones carrier. Improvement are difficult situation that you have overcome and that don't necessary have a positive immediate result, but in the long run they are growth points and learning milestones that help you develop and raise you to new understandings.

Some few iterations down the road, I was looking to add more value to this concept and I stumbled upon an youtube video of someone researching to build an app that would allow you to monitor your skills and their level in a similar way as an RPG will. Looking into the matter I have found some scientific explanation and approach regarding on how different point system can be implemented.

Hence, Job Journey got a new section for the user: Skills.
